Headquartered in Shanghai, it is a leading comprehensive insurance group in China listed in both Shanghai and Hong Kong.

The company played its role as a cushion of economic and social shocks, paying out a total of RMB 560 billion in claims in the past 10 years. In particular, it provided timely claims handling service for major accidents and natural disasters, such as the severe car accident on Jingkun Highway, the earthquake of Jiuzhaigou, Typhoon Hato and Typhoon Nasat. Through programs such as Taihaopei, Taiyipei and E-Agricultural Insurance, it brings ease and convenience to its customers. Its life and property and casualty operations were both rated the top-notch A and AA at the Annual Business Operation Evaluation and Customer Service Evaluation respectively, becoming a new norm in business development and service of the industry.

With a mission of “being a responsible insurance company”, it launched a series of poverty-alleviation programs via terminal illnesses insurance, income-protection agricultural insurance, investments in industries and contributing to education, covering 4.6 million households. The programs explored various models which can be duplicated across the country. In particular, it dispatched 136 of its employees to rural villages to assist in economic empowerment and achieve common prosperity. It also provided help to orphaned and disabled children, donating to schools under the Hope Initiative. As a result, it won the Company of the Year Award at the China CSR Ranking for 8 years on end, and was ranked among the ESG Top 50 for China’s A-share listed companies.
